Marie represented a Mother who left a relationship as a result of domestic abuse. As a result of injunctions and restraining orders there was a long gap in the child seeing the Father. It had therefore been agreed that contact could commence at a contact centre on a supervised basis, in order to reintroduce the child to the Father.
However, the child was then provisionally diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and was awaiting diagnosis, so an application was made at Court for the contact to be delayed so that any assessment and guidance could inform the way contact should be managed.
Contact was delayed until a full assessment of the child was available, in order to inform any future child arrangements.
