Retaining ownership of companies and properties

Dean represented the husband in a divorce in which the marital assets included two companies and, in addition to the family home, a foreign property and a further property in this country, together with pensions.

His client wished to secure a share of the family home, and the companies, which he operated himself. He also wished to retain the foreign property and the second property in this country. The wife sought to retain the entire proceeds of the family home together with a share of the companies.

Following the final hearing, Dean was successful in retaining for his client both companies, the second domestic property and the foreign property. The husband also received a 30% share of the proceeds of sale of the family home.
