Aran joined Becket Chambers as a Pupil in April 2026 and is currently in his first six. He studied the Graduate Diploma in Law at the City Law School as a Diplock Scholar of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple before undertaking the Bar Practice Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, again funded by Middle Temple Inn as a Diplock Scholar.
During his academic career, Aran gained experience within the legal profession by undertaking several mini-pupillages in London-based chambers that cover the core practice areas of Becket Chambers, marshalling at the High Court of Justice in the Administrative Division, and successfully competing in moots.
After completing the Bar Practice Course, Aran worked as a County Court Advocate and attended nearly 800 hearings in the County Court throughout Kent, Sussex, Essex and London. He successfully represented clients in a variety of civil matters, including landlord-and-tenant disputes (both residential and commercial), personal injury claims and settlements, contractual disputes, insolvency applications, and interlocutory applications.
Aran knew from a young age that he wanted a challenging and intellectually stimulating career where he could make a difference. From his experiences while studying and practising law, he decided that being an advocate for people who need representation was the best use of his analytical and logical approach and his ability to articulate complex arguments, which he gained from his mathematics degree.
Aran has also used his mathematics background and personal skills as a private tutor (including voluntary work), supporting and educating students, including vulnerable people and those with learning differences. This experience strengthened his commitment to being a voice for people who might otherwise not be heard.
As an advocate, Aran is confident, assertive and prides himself on being well-prepared for hearings. His analytical skills enable him to capably process large quantities of information, assess the merits of a case, and distil sizeable bundles of evidence when preparing submissions.
Aran joined Becket Chambers as he is keen to develop his practice in both Civil and Family law. Having also met and seen several of his new colleagues in court whilst working as a County Court Advocate, he was impressed by the variety of work undertaken by Chambers and the friendly and personable approach of Becket Chambers’ barristers.
Aran enjoys a challenge outside of work. He has participated in several BHF London-to-Brighton bike rides and Tough Mudder races for charity. He is an avid golfer and a member of a local Kent golf course, enjoys the tactical challenge of chess, and often frequents the theatre – his favourite show is Hamilton.
