Badar Alam was called to the Bar in 2022, having successfully completed the Bar Course as a scholar of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. He joined Becket Chambers as a tenant in January 2025 following the successful completion of pupillage at a well-regarded Civil and Family law set.
Badar has developed a broad and balanced practice across both Family and Civil law and regularly appears in court in a wide range of hearings. He has conducted a significant number of multi-day hearings, including both final and fact-finding hearings. He is a confident court advocate who is able to distil complex issues into clear and persuasive submissions.
Badar is particularly valued for his clear and effective communication with clients and solicitors, a pragmatic solutions-focused approach, strong advocacy combined with sensitivity in difficult cases and thorough case preparation. He is known for combining a calm and approachable manner with effective advocacy.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Badar worked as a paralegal and in client-facing roles, gaining valuable experience working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
Badar graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the University of London, ranking first in his cohort. He was awarded the Top Graduate Award, the Outstanding LLB Year 3 Student Award, and a School of Law Scholarship.
Badar maintains a strong civil practice, including representing clients in credit hire claims. from small claims through to complex, multi-track cases. . He regularly appears Fast Track Trials and Small Claims Trials, Injunctions, ASBO-related matters, and enforcement proceedings.
