Achieving mutually agreeable contact arrangements

Sandria acted for the Mother in a case where the Father sought a shared residence order. The parents were separated and had attended mediation.

The Father sought for a shared residence order, despite his working commitments being such that the Mother managed all the child care.

After an initial hearing in which Father appeared to be pursuing a shared residence order, the parents came to a CAO by agreement with the children living with the Mother, and the Father having alternate weekends, with holidays being shared.

With the former matrimonial home sold, it was agreed that the Mother may relocate with the children and that they will change schools with immediate effect. The Father acknowledged that he is unable to manage the contact in its entirety, but Sandria’s client was content to have children remain in her care as much as possible.

A final order was made by consent
