Achieving settlement despite unrealistic expectations

Ronald acted for a claimant who had unrealistic expectations as what what level of damages would be awarded.

On the morning of trial he successfully negotiated a settlement which was more than the client would have received had the case gone to trial, but less than what the client had been led to believe might be awarded. The client was initially unwilling to accept the settlement, but there was a serious risk that the award would be reduced if the matter proceeded to trial.

Ronald’s negotiation skills and objective, clear communication enabled him to gently persuade his client to accept the settlement figure.
