Child Arrangements Order
Sandria represented a mother who has experienced mental health, drug and alcohol abuse issues. When unable to cope with looking after her child, Sandria’s client had voluntarily and temporarily placed the child with the father. Despite improvements, the father was now refusing to allow the child to return to the mother’s care.
Sandria’s particular approach in this case focused on:
- Long term solutions of benefit to the child
- Putting in place assessment and testing
- Ensuring that future changes in her client’s circumstances can be taken into account
Sandria’s proposed supervised contact with the mother initially, and putting in place a programme of assessment including drug testing, to allow her client to demonstrate the improvement in her situation and her ability to be responsible for her child in the future.
