Contested interim care order

Holly represented a client with serious mental health issues in proceedings in which the Local Authority were seeking to remove her children pending further assessments. The client was being supported by a Crisis team and attended court with a number of professionals.

The case involved Holly in dealing with:

  • a client who found the proceedings profoundly difficult to cope with
  • a variety of reports from mental health professionals
  • the instruction of both child and adult psychiatrists.

Holly was able to encourage the Local Authority and court to agree to the children remaining at home with the mother under an interim care order pending a final determination of the matter.
