Prosecuting fraud and attempting to pervert the course of justice
Paul successfully prosecuted a defendant charged with three counts of fraud involving cheating a vulnerable victim out of a £50,000 inheritance supposedly to invest it in a Trust, and renting a property out as a holiday let after it had been re-possessed by a bank; and one of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The defendant was convicted after a seven-day hearing and received a total of 2½ years’ imprisonment.
