Resolving issues preventing a father’s contact
Sophie was recently instructed by a father at the first stage of his application for a child arrangements order. Her client had a number of criminal convictions in relation to the mother and on this basis the mother had withheld contact for approximately two years. The mother had concerns that the father had anger issues and would never be fully capable of caring for the child.
Despite the mother’s initial stance that contact should never take place, Sophie was able to engage not only with her client but also the mother who appeared in person to address all concerns raised.
