Marie represented the Mother in a case where three children had been removed from her care as a result of concerns about her drug use (which she accepts), neglect and domestic violence. The Local Authority had assessed the Grandparents and ruled them out as potential Special Guardians.

However, Marie made a Part 25 application for an Independent Social Work Assessment and this was successful. The Court will consider this once completed.
