Emily Jennett is now accepting instructions

Our People

08 April 2025

We are delighted that our pupil barrister Emily Jennett has started her second six. During her first 6 months shadowing members of chambers, Emily has observed a range of hearings including private childcare matters ranging from contact disputes to allegations of serious abuse, and civil matters relating to landlord and tenant disputes, trusts, road traffic matters, and Equality Act matters. Feedback from her mentors has been that she has excellent interpersonal skills, a confident manner, and an analytical mind.

Emily has a strong background in public law children work, having previously worked as a paralegal for a firm which represents the Local Authority in the West Midlands. She has an in-depth understanding of the principles surrounding public childcare proceedings, and is empathetic with clients, especially those that are vulnerable. Emily has a particular interest in adoption and has undertaken extensive legal research and written articles on this topic.

Emily studied Law at the University of Kent before winning a scholarship to take the Bar course at Cardiff University, where she was awarded ‘very competent’.

Emily accepts instructions across all areas of Chambers’ practice, including private family law matters dealing with applications stemming from the Family Law Act and the Children Act, matrimonial finance, and civil matters, including property, probate, trusts, and Equality Act matters.

To instruct Emily, please get in touch with Paul or Arron on clerks@becket-chambers.co.uk or 01227 786331.
