Civil law barrister Simon Bell has joined Becket Chambers as a door tenant.
Simon specialises in planning, public and local government law and is a highly skilled litigator experienced in acting at all levels of court and tribunals. He has advised on several high-profile government cases, including the expansion of Heathrow Airport, HS2, the Trojan Horse affair and the effects of Brexit. Called in 2003 and now based in Kent, Simon previously spent several years as an in-house lawyer with the Government Legal Department and then a solicitor’s firm in Kent before moving back to the independent bar.
