Representing a Mother concerned about sexual harm

Marie represented a Mother in a complex and unusual case where the child had a disability which required special schooling and a plan from the Local Authority, but the parents could not agree on the right school. In addition, contact with the Father had broken down, and the child was refusing to see him and having therapy in an attempt to address this.

A Specific Order application was made and the court will decide which school the child will attend.

At the FHDRA the Parties agreed Family Therapy, and an Independent Social Worker was instructed to report on the case (as it would be far quicker than Cafcass) to address the contact issues. The case was listed for a final hearing to deal with the issue of schooling and a Child Arrangements Order application for the child to spend time with the Father.
