Representing a Mother’s concerns in a Father’s contact application

Marie represented a Mother in a case where her ex-partner had stopped having contact with the children of his own accord for a significant period of time. He then made an application for contact out of the blue. The children did not wish to see him but it was agreed that if they did wish to see him they could see him at a supervised contact centre and then contact could be reviewed after that.

There were issues as to Safeguarding (drugs and accommodation) and potential emotional harm the children had suffered, and as a result a s.7 report was ordered.

With Marie’s representation her client agreed supervised contact in a contact centre, and a s.7 report was requested by the court. The case is listed for a Dispute Resolution Appointment.
