Marie Crawford represents a Mother with significant cognitive difficulties in Care Proceedings

Case Summary

Marie represents a mother with significant cognitive difficulties with a young baby. There have been concerns which led to the PLO pre-proceedings process which concluded positively with no proceedings recommended and a positive assessment. However, there was a deterioration in the home conditions for a number of reasons and proceedings were commenced.

At the initial interim care hearing the local authority was seeking to remove the child. Marie successfully resisted this application, and no order was made. The mother entered into a written agreement and a mother and baby foster placement will be sought, which the mother agrees to.

Result

No order made.
