Representing a Father subject to allegations of sexual abuse

Marie represented a Father in a case where the Local Authority had made an application for care orders as a result of one of the children’s allegation of sexual abuse against him. The parents had separated, the Father had left the home and the children remained with the Mother under an Interim Supervision Order.

The Court made Supervision Orders in respect of the children and directions were made towards a fact-finding hearing on the allegations of sexual abuse.

The Court listed a further CMH so that the LA could consider their schedule of allegations and witness requirements before submissions would be made as to the proportionality/extent that the Court will allow the fact-finding hearing to cover.
