Last night saw the final of the Family Advocacy Competition at the University of Kent take place. Our 4 finalists – Gloria Aghedo, Josh Brooker, Oliver Contreras and Al Forouq Von Zeki, all argued a child arrangements case. All of the finalists were well prepared and made excellent submissions to our 3 Judges – Christian Fox,
Magdalena Cass and Cara Radford.
Al Farouq Von Zeki was crowned the winner who will receive £250, a mini pupillage, two 1 to 1 sessions with barristers, a 1 to 1 session with a clerk and an advocacy book.
After the competition, a panel Q&A session was held whereby students were able to ask questions of our Senior Clerk Paul Eaton and our two pupils – Neive Augustin and Jonathan Brooks
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will be back with another competition in 2024!
